About Cherokee Garden

Cherokee Garden Condominiums, located in vibrant north Madison, is situated on 60 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Founded in 1961, there are now 570 units in 41 buildings with

8 or 16 units per building. Units come in several attractive floor plans and sizes. The buildings have locked entrances, well-lit hallways, underground heated garages and secure, locked storage areas. There are elevators in many of the buildings. The association is well managed with rules and regulations that are enforced, yet are adaptable to meet changing times and needs. Cherokee is fiscally sound, has ample reserves and low maintenance fees.

Very attractive features of the Cherokee grounds are its park-like environment, wide spaces between buildings, well maintained streets and drives, many fountains, waterfalls, rock walls with gardens, and bridges over ponds. Many residents are avid gardeners, gracing the grounds around buildings with beautiful flowers and bird feeders for the many varieties of birds that call Cherokee home. Resident photographers Ron McKinley and Jim Addis, and Cherokee neighbor Stepehen Lang have contributed a number of photographs of the Cherokee grounds and resident wildlife.

Two heated outdoor swimming pools are popular attractions in the summer.  A meeting space adjacent to one of the pools, the Clubhouse, is available for rent by Cherokee residents for a nominal fee. For more information call the office at (608) 244-8144.

Cherokee is pet-friendly, though there are number and size restrictions laid out in the Cherokee House Rules & Regulations. Criss-crossing the grounds are walkways that are perfect for walking for both people and dogs.

Cherokee is close to shopping, the Dane County Airport, and the interstate. It is a short drive to the
Cherokee Marsh, a state natural area and the largest wetland in Dane county.

TPC Wisconsin is on our northern edge and offers golf, swimming, fitness center, year-round tennis and raquetball courts, and a restaurant/sports bar, also very conveniently located within walking distance for Cherokee residents.  For membership information, please call 608-249-1000.
